APRIL - JUNE 2005

MAY 9, 2005
We just got home last night after a loooong few days of travel. We left on Thursday, practiced on Friday in Holland, Played on Saturday and flew back home on Sunday. We had such a good time, as we always do in Holland, at the Dynamo, I would do it again in a heart beat! John Oliva is a good friend, my favorite singer and playing, hanging out and partying with him in Holland was a blast! If you can only imagine a couple of RedNecks from Florida gettin'-er-done in Holland!!! We are getting so many friends there now it is starting to feel like home! We will be back playing in Tilburg, Holland on June 23, 2005!H ope to see you all there! The Dynamo people put together a really good Festival this year with a bunch of great bands and I think everyone there enjoyed it a lot!

Everyone has been all over me to hear some new stuff so here it is! INSANE is one of the first songs we wrote for the new CD and is also the song we have been playing live. Check it out and let me know what you think. Keep in mind it is only a MP3 and it will sound better off the actual CD!

Saw Obituary last night!
Posted on April 23, 2005 at 03:03:08 PM by Slacker

I have been thinking about how I would start this off, I suppose a recast of the evening would be in order.

I left work at about 6pm and started the 2 1/2 drive to Worcester, MA and got there literally just in time. I have been a HUGE fan of this band for 13 years, since The End Complete came out. And like many of you, I cant tell you how many times I have listened to each CD. I also have the Live CD memorized, and know every guitar twang and every howl from every fan that was in that audience. Needless to say my expectations were pretty high, and I was just hoping to have them met. I can not say this enough, this is hands down THE BEST live band I have ever seen! I have seen HUNDREDS of shows, and I always thought it was remarkable how many people have come on this board and said that this is the best live band on the planet. NOW I UNDERSTAND! Seeing this band live is like a non stop beat down!! They played a good varied list off of all of their albums, and I was pleasantly surprised that they played "Solid State" which like all of the others hauled ass, and is PERFECT for a live show! The crowd was really into it, and you could tell that there were a ton of people there just to see Obituary. What was awesome to see was that with every song Obituary was making new fans too. It really was mind blowing! I am telling you, they played just unbelievably tight and clean. You would think that they did shows like this every night! It was fucking awesome...and sooooo GOD DAMN LOUD I felt like I was in a war zone. It was fucking awesome. They literally almost shook the place apart! Oh, and this is what blew me away. John sounds more brutal and disgusting live then on any CD they have put out! That is what really got me. I dont think I am taking anything away from the Live CD, but I was basing alot of my expectations on the way that CD sounds. That is one of the things that that CD failed to capture, and I guess that is where they really exceeded my expectations. He literally does sound better live then on the studio production. It was fucking awesome!!! Donald blew the audience away with a SICK drum solo, and Frank, Trevor and Allen were tight and in sync the entire set. And they really showed they can control a show when they played "Dying". And "Kill For Me" was fucking crazy!! It was just fucking awesome...

Now, one thing that I know you are all wondering. What does the new shit sound like? They ended their main show with "'Til Death" and then encored and came back out and played the song "Insane." If you have any doubts that this come back album is for real, put them to rest! This was CLEARLY the best song of the evening!! I am not exaggerating in the slightest! It seriously fucking ruled!! And you could see it on everyones face, we were all thinking the same thing. It was, "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!" I am serious, no one had even heard the song before and it whipped everyone into a complete frenzy!! It was fucking unreal...and then of course they finished with "Slowly We Rot". Enough said!! It was incredible...

After the show, I bought a shirt and then got to meet John briefly and also shook Don's hand. I then drove back and got home at about 3am... It was an absolutely great show, and again, I have to say, the absolute best live performance I have ever seen. If you are within ten hours of a show when they go on tour, I absolutely recommend you go see them. You absolutely will not be dissapointed!! The new material is for real, and we all need to show our support and BUY the new album when it comes out. Don't download it for free!! Do it for yourself! If they sell more CD's then they can afford to put out more new material! New material means MORE TOURS! It is a more then fair trade off!!!!!!

Thank you Obituary for the incredible experience!!!!!!!!

What a show! First thanks to Slipknot for inviting us out to play this show!  We had a blast and the L.A. fans where great! It was a long trip out to California for one show but well worth it. I would also like to say thanks to Big Daddy, Big Shirt and Rich for all their help!

We finished mastering the album yesterday so we are all done at our end with the new CD! Working with Tom Morrisound over at Morrisound was a pleasure and we are really happy with the way it turned out. We are still waiting for RoadRunner to give us a release date. Hopefully it will be the beginning of July at the latest!

Show Announcement: Friday April 22nd, 2005 in Worcester, Mass for the New England Hard Core and Metal Festival!!!
